Hang on to your hat!

That would be interesting to hear. I am game for such a seminar.

Great idea. I would definately try to make it.

Would like to attend (if able) and bring a food dish (snack) ---- a 90 min drive is worth it.

                THANKS

Count me in!

Heck yea! Count me in. I’m in Lafayette.

If I am home I would like to be there also. I always have trouble figuring out what is the lowest the river can be at in Butte Larose and still get into places like Beau Bayou, Oak Ridge and the Phillips. Other than running up Bayou Darby or the C bon until you start throwing mud

I would love to attend that. Please follow thru on this if you can! and thank you!

That’s a great idea! Could really turn into a fun deal. Tell you what, I have a small informal conference room in our shop that could accommodate about 10 sitting, and another 5+ standing. It has a large whiteboard that might work well.
I’d offer it if we would be sure to clean our food/snack mess afterwards.
Located very near Grainger/KATC/KLFY stretch of Eraste Landry Street, Lafayette.

If that’s not big enough, maybe we could rent a meeting room at a local hotel and just kick in an entry fee.

Beau Bayou isn’t difficult to gauge. It all depends on how fast the water is dropping. It takes a while to adjust to the BLR reading if dropping fast. All the water in that area has to pass through Darby, so it takes a while to settle.

I would be there, if possible. If we wanted we could make it an informal pot luck. Maybe sandwich trays, chips and drinks or something like that. I could make a couple pecan pies! We could collect a few bucks to cover cost.

I have been fishing the basin for the last few years and would love to learn more about it. Depending on my work schedule I would love to make it to your seminar. Even If I am not able to be there I would like to thank you for your offer.

What I was talking about if you can’t get into those places when the river at BLR is at 8 feet and your going fishing and the river is at 7 feet why waste the fuel to go find out.

I am not to sure what the State Parks in that area have to offer. The one at D’Arbonne has good meeting areas. The Parks down there may have the perfect Spot for up to 50 people . Some Churches have " Family Life Centers" they rent for Family Reunions and public Meetings, for almost nothing.

Your post is self explanatory . I have been fishing there so long I pretty much know where to go at a particular stage. Even at that conditions change year to year in some places. If you keep a log, then it would generally give you an idea of what’s accessible. Benoit is difficult sometimes to figure out. Go one day and catch, go to the same spot the next and skunk.

heck(PS), that happens to me anywhere I go…

maybe thats just sacalait fishing, more so than other fishing:dono

No vet, from my experience it’s every fish and every where. Salt water, fresh water, lakes, ponds, rivers don’t matter. Here today, gone tomorrow. I’m there more often on the tomorrow!:frowning:

Me too

I’m at the places they were at yesterday…
