very nice
Troutman NC? Troutman is my last name. Now I know that boat will bring you luck:)
It is also a sign for me to go buy one some day. 6 more months of school and I might be able to afford one:)
Only one word. WOW! That is one nice fishing machine. I bet that was the two longest trips you ever been on. Going to get it and bringing it home!
Congrats Tap, that is a sweet ride.
Aw shucks I held out as long as I could without being an obvious A-hole.![]()
That is one nice rig Tap, a boat fit for the king that you are!
I’ll give you a heads-up when Take A Shoer Fishing Day is comin up.
Nice ride George. Let me know if ya need any help this week getting her right. Look forward to seeing it Saturday.
Lucky man! Nice boat, very pretty and what’s best, you’ll rig it exactly like you want it knowing no one else has touched it before.
Congratulations, you deserve it for all the time you spend on the water.
Very Nice boat there Tap. I know Your glad to finally have it. Once You get the set up on it dialed in to Your specs, it will be a fishen machine.:)CF
Man that is a sweet tub tap!!! That red really makes that boat pop. You should be hauling crappie in that with the 75hp. They set those Lunds up really nice.
Sweet ride…the crappie are trembling in fear now. Have fun getting her rigged.
Super Nice!! Even better when you get it rigged to suit you. Can’t wait to see her in person:)
Picked out a name yet? How about “Submission” ??
Real nice ride for sure. How do you get it to fit in the garage though? My boat is only like 74" wide with the same size opening you have and I have to push it into my garage by hand but mine is on a slight turn as well.
If you find it is too tight for your garage we can trade boats so you can fit it in easier. ![]()
Hope you enjoy it for a long time.

I’m hoping it wasn’t beginners luck. I even got to do it with my neighbors watching. It took quite a bit of adjusting. My challenge is that I have a fire hydrant about 3’ from the right side of my driveway. The widest part of the boat is 91" and my garage opening in 94.75". The very back end is only 88" so that helps. I think that once I get my boat centered in my driveway that I’ll be ok. Once in the garage we have plenty of room, more than I thought I would have.
Thanks for all the compliments. I was hoping to get my trailer registered today but found out that I did not have an original copy of the bill of sale with the price of the trailer on it so the dealer is sending me one express mail. I’ll relax once I get it and can put a license plate on the trailer and get my temporary registration card.
Tap, out of curiosity, what other boats did you seriously consider besides the Lund? I’ve been waiting for the “deal of a Lifetime” to show up and and it hasn’t, except for a scam on Craigs List. So, I may be considering a new one. What is the tongue weight for your Lund, I’m also trying to figure out if my Ranger will pull a larger rig. Thanks. You’ll have it tricked out to your satisfaction in no time!
Great looking boat Tap.Enjoy.
Nothing like that feeling when you bring it home. Now take it out and get some fish stink in it, just throw the very first one you catch down in the bottom and let him flop around a while. Looks like your backing skills are about to become refined, I have almost the same problem with my garage, very little clearance and no room for error. Congratulations on the new boat and I’m looking forward to seeing it at the bash Saturday.
Tap, Best bet would be to unhook outside and push the trailer into the garage manually. Then You can take Your time and move it slowly while checking around the boat to make sure You don’t hit anything. My Uncle backs his bass boat into his garage like that and then makes a 90 degree turn inside. It is the only way He can do it. CF
Next time you roll it out, move it slowly and keep it exactly centered in the available space. Every couple of feet, stop and apply a light smear of paint behind each trailer tire. The paint will dry while you’re out fishing and when you get back, you’ll have no trouble backing it in quickly without even having to look at the side clearance.
I did a lot of research and started visiting dealers last summer. I visited an Alumacraft dealer twice, a Crestliner dealer, and looked at Tracker a lot. Only Crestliner and Lund offered the three pedestal receptacles up front which is an option that I really wanted. Crestliner did not have the rod storage down the middle like Lund and all the research I did on Lund showed it to be an excellent boat. I don’t know the exact tongue weight but I’m pretty sure its under 200lbs. My boat, trailer, and motors combined weight is 2,050lbs and they generally set up tongue weight below 10% of total weight and I was told usually around 7%. My V6 engine (210hp) had no problem what so ever pulling this boat. The Mountaineer, just like the Explorer, is built on the Ranger frame. (or so I’m told) Once last thought. Other than Tracker there are no dealers in Virginia. For Crestliner, or Alumacraft. Pennsylvania was the closest. There is one Lund dealer in Fredericksburg but when I visited all he had were three 05 models that he had never sold. They were in a field covered up. When I pulled the cover back the carpet was all water stained, there were wet boxes in it, and parts were missing off the console. He primarily sold tractor equipment and I walked away convinced that I was not going to buy a boat from there.
I would love to be able to do that and with Virginia Beach being flat as a pancake you would think I could. However, my driveway is slightly up hill. Too steep for me to push 2,000lbs plus. Once I get it half way in the garage, then I can push it.
Good idea, I was thinking of doing something along these lines.
Nice
Great boat and great dealer. Tell him Chuck said hello. Enjoy!
