Are they sucking the lakes dry or what?

I haven’t been down in a few weeks, but a buddy told me that Enid has fell about 6 foot or so. Is that true.

I just checked and it was like 246.6, I thought it was up to about 255 not too long ago.

Is this the normal time they draw it down?

How has the falling water affected the fishing?

It’s normal. There getting ready for potetial rain in the Fall. Get use to it, as it can help you instead of hurt you.

I understand about the fall and winter draw downs, but it just seems a bit early.

With the cooler days and nights, do the fish move shallower, or let me ask a different question, what does the shad do with this type weather?

Yes, Enid is very low. I was out there for about an hour and a half this evening and I tried to go back up in a creek that I like to fish after a rainfall and it was completely dried up.

They start the drawdown on Aug 1st every year that permits. Last year the COE got caught when it rained evey day and they didnt get them drawn down as planned so this year they are gonna be sure and GET ER DONE!

Butla is supposed to start sept.1

the COE has nothing better to do. all i know is i was looking forward to having water up in the holes between wyattes crossing and hwy 7 to duck hunt but i knew better to get my hopes up.

Talked to guy with the corp at Walmart saturday and he said they will start the butla draw down this wednesday and gonna lower it to do some more work on the ramps. Probably won’t be fishable from about mid september through December or so.

I just called the Corp at Arkabutla and they had no knowledge of ramp work or that the lake would be unfishable.

Thats what they told us last year too, up untill they started the work !

Maybe from a boat:D:D:D

Sept. has been the drawdown start for as long as i can rem. and after the coe did all that dredging this spring the lake should be fishable year round. But after about 215ft better know how to navigate around all those mud bars.
