I know everyone will have their favorite lake to spout off about. I get around to about 6 to 7 different lakes each year around April and May. I have my favorites and I have found some that I will not go back to. Based on these 3 points name me your top 3 lakes in Ohio. 1) biggest crappie 2) most plentiful 3) easiest to fish. This should lead to a good thread with some participation.
it doesnt matter which lake i fish i like any of them that have crappie. 1(ceasers)2(cowan)3(any lake)
East fork has to be #1 then maybe #2-Buckeye,#3-Indian,#4-Salt fork

I would say Buckeye, Buckeye, Buckeye, Buckeye. Did I mention Buckeye?![]()
CJ may surprise you this spring…
CJ is the “Dead Sea” of SW OH-IO. It’s a barren underwater wasteland where everyone goes NOT to catch fish. I don’t waste time there:):)![]()
Since I mostly fish in SW Ohio
I got to say EF, Cowan and Paint Creek.
Size and numbers all seem about the same. Cowan does seem to be the easiest just to catch some fish but you got to know a few spots to catch the good-uns.
Biggest - Salt Fork/St.Mary’s, Most Plentiful - Buckeye/Indian, Easiest to Fish - Buckeye/Loramie
There are no good crappie left at paint creek, C.O.E. HAS SCREWED THAT UP the last few years with dock projects, and are planning another this spring with a completion date of 5-15-11:(
ALSO tHERE ARE NO GOOD DEER in ohio:D:D
1-EAST FORK
2-EAST FORK

uh huh …we believe you… http://forum.crappie.com/crappie/fish-ohio/111632-bullwinkle-found.html
We can all agree if everyone keeps too many fish everything will be the dead sea!!
All the big deer have moved to Kentucky, land of the giants!!
the ohio river..biggest fish.. eastfork..the most and the easiest..
On the eastern side of the buckeye try Mosquito and West Branch up north are great options. Going south Atwood is a good lake in open or hardwater. All the MWCD lakes are good places also.
It’s not in Ohio
but a one day tournament and 28 teams had a 2lb crappie…
look at the bottom of the page…
