Crappie rod for 1/32 oz jig heads

Looking to buy a new crappie jigging rod for 1/32 oz jig heads. No longer than 7’ and no more expensive than $100. Thanks!

Planning on pairing it with a shimano sedona 1000 and some 4 or 6 lb line. (6 in case i run into a catfish or walleye)

Some of the cheaper St. Croix models would be great. Some of the Bass Pro and Cabela’s “house brands” would also work well.

I really like the trout slayer rod. Alpha hawk does a good review on it.

My Sam Heaton 7 ft Super Sensitive cast a 1/32 oz jig very well with 4# Viscious line, key is to have a reel with a big spool on it.
Less then 40.00 and can feel the tiniest thump.

I know you said 7’ but check out the B&M 7.5’ Crappie Wizard. I throw 1/32 & 1/64 oz jigs on 2# mono. I also use it for hatchery trout with tiny rooster-tail inline spinners

I picked up the Cadence CR7 6’3" med-light extra-fast 1-piece rod; about $75 shipped on amazon. Same one Richard Gene uses on his last couple videos. It casts great, and the build quality is very good for the money. I even caught about a 5 lb bass drifting a minnow, and it handled the big fish just fine. I’ve had it a couple months and have caught lots of fish with it - its lucky.

So i ended up splurging a bit and buying a st croix panfish 6’9. Was $120. I gotta stop spending so much on fishing!

I fished with the 7ft St Croix Panfish for a year straight and really liked it. You will not be disappointed.

Id suggest the 7’ okuma celilo parred with either the okuma inspira or the Helios reel. I have a few of both and they flat out perform any Sam heaten stuff or all the BnM stuff for that matter. I bought up that BnM stuff years ago and I’m not impressed.

The next time you get to the St Croix store, look up a 66lf 1 piece. Very nice rod and balances well with a 1500 or 2000 series reel. Let us know how that panfish model works out for you.
