Had this fella show up for a look. Can’t say I have ever seen one. Had a greenish tint to him that didn’t show up in the photo. Darn skiddish too. As I got close enough for a better photo he took off.
Green Heron. Old folks called them Shy-Pokes.
I sure had never seen one that I know of. About twice the size of a snipe. Definitely didn’t want any part of me getting closer
