Got on the lake this morning around 9:30 with plans to ride and look to see what places I could find to fish if the water ever comes back up. Lot of ground out of the lake and tons of structure that will hold fish that notes were made of. I ran across one place that was holding a lot of bait and fish so I dropped the line in to see what the bite would be like. Caught a few spotted bass but no crappie so I moved on.
After making runs up a few creeks I found a pot of gold! Well a tree that will hold many fish and was holding a few today. Nothing real big but did manage 7 all 10’’ to 12’’ fish.
The last hour I made a run up 6 & 20 to see how things looked, o-boy we need water bad and it doesn’t seem like the rain we had has helped at all. I run into the mud line near Hurricane Creek. That ramp is out of the water by 4’ or better.
After you go under Liberty Hwy the water is very shallow. I tried to make it to the bridge at Brown Rd. But took the last picture setting in 2 1/2 foot of water and still needed to go another few 100 yards to reach the bridge. As you can see no water is under the bridge and you can see the dock at the ramp laying on the bank if you look under the bridge to the left.
Well the fish are still biting if you can find them and if you have a good ramp to use, so get out on the lakes and have fun but be careful.
I used Denver Downs Ramp today and here is what the ramp looks like. Still useable but I don’t know for how long.
Thank’s for the report Stumpy. Man I hope we get plenty of rain soon. Wylie is down but not quite that bad. Look’s like a bit more rain tonight and again Monday night.
Corp web site shows that Harrtwell has come up an inch since Saturday. But still 14’ low(645.97). Think Denver ramp is good to 635. Was the water at Denver stained up? Most of the time its pretty clear, even after rain. Im going to hit the Well this weekend if the wind stays down. Thanks for the report Ronnie.
Yes the water was clear at Denver. It was strange but the water temp is warmer in the deeper water than up in the creek runs. Hope you can find some biting this weekend. The wind was stronger than they called for and it was COLD!!
Thanks for those pictures Ronnie. L:ooks like some great color, expecially for Lake Hartwell. Hopefully I (or someone else) can get to Clark Hill before too long and get us a report from there too. Deer season ends the 1st here so after that it’s onoly fishing for me. Congrats on the catch and just getting out there having some fun and doing some looking around.
Thanks for the report Ronnie. Sounds like you caught a mess to eat today.
I fished at Cherry Crossing today with no luck. Dad, Brock, and I were trying for some cats. We were able to use the Twin Lakes ramp but it is pretty rough.
