looks like you and that boat and all time rigging starting to come together for ya …Congrats on the catching …them water temps are getting rite for sure..
Nuthin wrong with that! The deer are really moving around here. Stirred up and cool weather I’m sure. I got a small block of trace mineral salt today I put out and have 3 feed sacks of ear corn I will tie a few ears to the fence every few days by the husks once winter is here for real. Was sure a nice day.
By the way… Thanks to Tap for mentioning the 2’ rise submerged island… I was hunting for lumps, bumps, slopes and took the crappie on a slope rising fom 16’ to 10’ with a brushpile at the top of the slope… was rigged at about 8’and let drift over the slope… crappie hit and I thought I had hung the brushpile.
It’s a process… like learning anything new… but I’m tossing it all into the salad… new lake… new boat… new way of rigging… multiple rods with mutiple hooks…
I’ve been transitioning from Walleye and Bass fishing, to serious Crappie fishing; and I’ve experienced the same issues. Fortunately, there are enough posters on this board to help you with the transition, and those who don’t actually help, still lend moral support.
I’m extremely grateful that I found this board, and hope to pass along what I learn during my “extended transition”.
I’m coming from a 1 ultralight rod and jig mentality and going to a multi-rod/multi-hook way of thinking. But if you ever stop learning it’s time to look for a hole.
