Let me know how it works. Remember don’t freak out after two or three coats. It takes 4-6 to get the shine. Also, clean all of it then when your putting the wax on do small areas so you can keep up with the number of coats you’ve put on.
You did not stay down long. What fish finder are you going with?
You might want to consider sea deck instead of carpet too.
What I found was some marine carpet. Its just like what I had in my last boat and I was well pleased with it. Gonna wait until I do the Poli-Glow job to it before I put the carpet down.
I took Hookem’s advice and ordered the Poli-Glow and it came in today. I did all the prep work and did the top half of one side before it got dark…Awesome results!!!..There was no way to remove all the oxidation without many hours of sanding, so if the rubbing compound didn’t get it, it didn’t get got!!!I wish I would have known about this stuff when I had my last fiberglass boat. Here are a few pics of the side that was done and the side that hasn’t been done yet. I hope to have it all done and the carpet put in by Sunday afternoon…This is some good crap!!!
Dang that stuff works real good from the looks of it.
Wished you could have gotten my old boat… Was ready to go. without all the work.
This one was ready to fish out of, but I wanted to make it right and do it my way from scratch. I couldnt beat the price and I think its gonna be jam up in a few weeks.
Tim, that looks awsome. I am going to order some. Going to Ky lake the 18th - 25th and then work on my boat and trailer. Haven’t made up my mind on the trailer yet. Going to strip the wiring, wire brush the trailer and then either paint with undercoating or bed liner. Any thoughts?
Chuck
I put in a full day today. I finished polishing the whole boat inside and out and started on the carpet. I only got the floor and the front deck glued down and still have a little trimming to do.
looks good, when we going to Talquin to see how she handles stumps?
TNT…Not sure what you do for a living, but you might want to change your profession. That looks good. How many coats of that Poli-Glow did you have to use? That must be some good stuff.
It looked pretty good with 6 coats, but I put 10 coats on the really bad places. That Poli-Glow works great. Just wipe it on and let it dry. Only takes a minute to dry in temp of 7- or better.
Got a link to that stuff you could pm me? I got a buddy who just inhereted his granddads old Performance stick steer and he’s trying to make it shine and all
wow that poli-glo works great
Wasn’t able to finish the carpet up today. I ran out of adhesive and the local hardware store did not have what I wanted, so I did some electrical wiring for the trolling motor and power wires for the GPS and fish finder. Only 4 doors, 2 compartments and under the console to finish up the carpet. Hopefully the carpet will be finished tomorrow and I’ll go shopping for some comfortable seats. Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
You’ve done an amazing job on that boat. If I had known about that polyglo a couple of years ago I could probably gotten more money for my old boat. Nice job dude.
Thx Wes…But now my carport looks like hell!!!
Also thanks for sending Matt my way. He was ecstatic about that trolling motor.
