Quick trip locally

I dropped my wife off at the hairdresser around 12:45 and drove the eight minutes to a local reservoir.

I took my old series , black blank , St Croix 5’ Triumph ULM , paired with a Daiwa Fuego LT1000d , spooled with Daiwa J braid .

I used a size 12 black tungsten streamer jig the whole time .

I managed to catch two small bass , a tiny green Sunfish, and 9 gills for an even dozen in thirty minutes.

Several came from shooting under the docks . The little , moderate action rod is a shooter , shooting up to 30’ .

Great way to kill some time.

You’ve got my vote too. How do we kill that which can not die? By fishing, among others. My day was a bit longer on the water but the results were about the same. The lake I went to has LM, SM, Spotted and I want to say a small population of white bass. Lots of them in the under 12 class and the 4-6” class too. Hard to make a sammich but I’ll take it. These mid week recharge trips are kinda cool. Hope you get out again soon.

Nice gills found in a short trip, nice for a short visit. Are you ever late picking up your wife when they are biting good? If

Nice looking gills. If I was doing short trips while she was getting her hair done I’d be late most of the time if they were biting. Maybe stretch another 15 minutes out of the trip.

She’ll text me when she’s done and I can get there fairly quick while she’s paying and setting up her next appointment.

I got into some nice crappie earlier this year and wanted to stay longer but I’d already caught 15 and that scratched the itch enough.

Yesterday it was so hot and I was in the open. I set a timer and was back waiting for her .
