I visited the town pond for a little over an hour today throwing micro spinners on my 5’ Major Craft Ajing Do 1 Ultralight rod.
Probably be my last trip until it cools off . It’s beginning to look polluted, like it does every summer . Too many geese polluting it . I bet there were over a hundred geese there today .
I feel like I need to say thank you for helping me realize how much I like catching fish regardless of their size. I believe on this website you have made it acceptable to fish for and catch small fish. I guess it’s just the way the Lord made me and regardless of what others think it makes me happy so thank you. I always enjoy reading your posts. Keep it up.
I enjoy catching fish . I don’t like being skunked . I do catch a lot of the little ones, but I catch some nice ones too . They’re all fun to catch , especially on the right tackle .
Being a bank fisherman almost exclusively now , I accept what’s available to me and have learned to enjoy it . Always have . I’ve been accused of fishing for bait a lot . LOL
A good friend of mine feels the same way . He just likes to catch fish .
We used to archery hunt for whitetail deer every season together and started fishing together. That’s when I discovered he loved fishing for “fish” as much as I do . We try to meet up once a week and have a friendly competition to see who can catch the most .
Even during the cold months , we rarely get skunked .
I hope I never lose that excitement of feeling the thump , not knowing what it is and not being disappointed if it isn’t a big one . I don’t think I will.
Nice looking gills from the bank. I only bank fish as well fishing small lakes usually under 5 acres. Lately fishing with three rods with one ultralight to remove the skunk and two medium bass rods with 6# mono for bass. With the heat I can’t fish as long usually starting around 6am and finished by 10am. Trying to fish in the shade and leave before lake is fully in the sun. Can’t handle the heat like I used too.
