Termites!!!!

Pre treatment is cheaper. Lol

sold a lakehouse in 2000 and paid off my parents house. They quit treating for termites after that and didn’t alert me to the fact. They thought their porch and stairs had rottened. But when I started tearing out stairs I discovered the termites had ate the post all the way through. Soooo 5000.00 later they can sit on porch and use steps again. I got termites stopped before they ruined house. Very fortunate we caught it and they didn’t fall through porch.

Nice! I’m sure they appreciate the work and not falling through porch.

Noooooooo. We are still on Blackout every night here, Formosan’s are still swarming a little.

Those critters work on a house quick

Treatment is the key. I’m due for sure. Thanks for jogging my old brain.

I’ve always had my house treated with preventative measures and checked / re-treated annually. But I didn’t think they would also attack treated landscape timbers. They did a number on my box garden last year. Found them swarming all over my plants (that looked crazy), so called in the exterminator. Sure enough - termites. When he started pulling away damaged wood inside the garden, you could see them everywhere. He treated the garden and killed everything around, and re-checked the house (no infestation there, thankfully).

So I had to rebuild the box garden this year. If they gnaw through this stuff… I’m moving!

Yup same here. If I leave any wood on ground they will attack it. They’ve destroyed a couple of raised garden beds and like you I rebuilt a couple of years back with concrete block. When we purchased our house they had gotten into some of it and we called Terminix and they treated and we’ve had service ever since with them. Your garden bed looks good.
