I met up my fishing buddy around noon , it was already in the mid 80’s .
I usually take a picture of every fish I catch , then I realized all of the time I was wasting taking pics of all the little ones that I wind up deleting later . And every time I pull out my phone , it’s another chance I might drop it .
Today I decided to only takes pics of just the fish I think might earn the right to be attached to my story here .
Today I didn’t take many pictures.
.
I caught numbers , 30-35 , but only a few made the grade .
One was a channel catfish I thought was a monster shellcracker until I got it close enough to identify it .
I’m always seem disappointed when I catch catfish , but I shouldn’t . A nice size catfish caught on a tiny jig , on an ultralight spinning outfit puts up a nice battle .
Fishing one of my shellcracker holes with the lake at full pool , I have another five feet from the water to the bank to lift any fish I catch . Today I was glad I was using 6# Daiwa J braid and a 4# Floroclear leader . Without it , I wouldn’t have landed this cat today on my 6’ TFO Pastime T&P rod . I was worried I might snap my rod when lifting the catfish , but it held .
Some of favorite pics from the few that I took .
