Just curious to see what yall’s favorite way to fish with crappie minnows is. I generally just fish a double drop rig or a jig head tipped with a minnow. Looking for some other options.
I’ve found the double-rig is my favorite, especially when the water turns cold in the Winter and the fish go deep.
I always fished 4 or 6 lb test with a pss-4 Little Gremlin split shot about 12-15" from the end. Then a number 1 gold Eagle Claw/Aberdeen hook on the end. Usually hook the minnow through the eyes. TW
This time of year you can’t beat rigging them on a slip cork with a 1/4 oz or so slip sinker carolina rigged to a hook. I used to use size 1 or 2 but have switched recently to size 6 and am very happy.
Thanks for the replies. Going to Harris early in the morning so I’m looking forward to trying a few different techniques.
