As the sun rose this morning, I was steaming down LCR headed for a spot that delivered on Tuesday.
In a few minutes, the boat glides into position & a big fat keeper is on the line! Then the phone rang. Woodduck’s on the way down the lake & he’s checking the spots I skipped.
For the rest of the day, we criss-crossed the lake looking for slabs. Along the way, I snagged a 12" ringer & we both picked up a few specks here and there (no honey hole, today.) Mid-afternoon, we regrouped. I’m drifting down a shoreline and BAM! A 15"crappie tried to bend one of my long poles into a pretzel.
By the end of the day, we landed a combined total of 20-some keeper-size specks and a few non-specks. Water temp topped out at 58*, so the spawn’s getting close!
Sorry about the lack of pix. I was anxious to get these fish back into the water & totally forgot the photos. Woody can describe them, however. The YP was a male & milked all over everything in sight. The crappie was a big plump female.
it was great crossing wakes w/ you cork. it was also a pleasure to see you turn that 15"er back into the water,it sure was a pretty fish. hope to cross wakes @ LCR again soon
